Face Coverings

As a result of an increasing percentage of the population getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and reduced transmission of the virus, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has removed or modified many restrictions on activity.

Currently, at Bath Iron Works:

Wearing face coverings outdoors is no longer required.

When indoors, face coverings are not required for fully vaccinated people (those who have had their final vaccination shot for at least 14 days.) Non-vaccinated people must still wear face coverings when indoors.

Non-vaccinated employees should wear face coverings while riding in carpools and vanpools.

Consistent with federal CDC guidelines, all employees must still wear face coverings when in a healthcare setting, such as BIW Medical, and when using public transportation, which includes the BIW parking shuttles.
