The Apprentice School
Apprentices are paid an hourly wage from the first day they start. Advancement in the apprenticeship wage schedule is based on attendance and length of time in training. Apprentices are paid for all work, including time spent in academic classes. Premium pay is given for all overtime. Additional benefits currently available to apprentices include paid vacation, paid holidays, pension plans, medical plans, life insurance, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and Social Security benefits.
Apprentice wages follows a pay progression unique to unions contract that represents the apprentice with raises typically occurring every 1,000 hours (approximately 6 months).
