The Professional Development Program is a two year rotational program designed to prepare high potential individuals for future leadership roles at BIW. From day one, participants are individually mentored by an organizational leader and are also given numerous opportunities to engage senior leadership as a group.
Over the two-year period, participants complete a set of core program rotations that cover critical aspects of the shipbuilding process. Participants work in a wide variety of roles across different areas of the company with the expectation that they will be dedicated to learning as well as technical and interpersonal development.
External applicants can apply for the Professional Development Program each fall by going to our career portal and searching “Professional Development Program.” The requisition for current employees is usually posted in March in our internal applicant career portal.
