Carpooling

BIW encourages carpooling for all employees. BIW provides carpool permit parking in Lot A. Employees must have a BIW-issued carpool permit and four riders to a carpool to park in Lot A.  If you are interested in applying for a BIW carpool, email biwparking@gdbiw.com or reach out to the parking program manager. There may be a waitlist for carpool permit openings.

Vanpools

Employees must have a 12 or 15 passenger van and a vanpool permit to park in BIW van lots. For more information about vanpools in your area, email biwparking@gdbiw.com.

Parking Lots and Park & Ride Information

1st Shift

• Employees without parking permits are encouraged to use the remote lots and shuttle buses.
• Parking lots shown in green in the BIW Owned or Leased Parking Lots Map below will be open parking for BIW employees who are not assigned a parking permit (first come, first serve).
• BIW provides 1^st shift shuttle service to the Taste of Maine satellite lot (161 Main Street, Woolwich), the VIP lot (11 State Road, Bath) and the West Bath shuttle lot (333 State Road, West Bath).

2nd Shift

• Employees working 2nd shift may park in all lots after 3 PM, except for Lot F.
• The BIW shuttle will provide 2^nd shift shuttle service to the satellite lots throughout the shift. The shuttle will leave South Gate at :05 and :35 past the hour and will continue to pick up riders at the West Gate and North Gate.

3rd Shift

• 3^rd shift employees can park in main yard proximity parking lots except Lot F and Lot D.
• BIW will provide 3^rd shift shuttle service from the West Bath lot for the start of 3^rd shift and Bo-Mar will return 3^rd shift employees at 6:30 AM. The BIW shuttle will be providing 3^rd shift shuttle service to the West Bath Shuttle lot (333 State Road, West Bath) throughout the shift until 5 AM. The shuttle will leave South Gate at :05 and :35 past the hour and will continue to pick up riders at the West gate and North gate.
