Full Service Support Operations
One of our most important jobs as a Navy Shipbuilder is to keep our customer’s ships at sea longer and at less cost. Our Surface Ship Support Center is the hub of our life cycle support activities. The key to its success is a talented pool of BIW men and women who learned their skills while working for the DDG planning yards, in new construction, during Post Shakedown Availabilities, or performing engineering work for Fleet Services.
As well as the core personnel at SSSC in Brunswick, ME, we have offices in major Navy homeports:
- Norfolk, Virginia
- Mayport, Florida
- Pascagoula, Mississippi
- San Diego, California
- Everett, Washington

- Yokosuka, Japan
- Rota, Spain
You can find details on how to contact those offices here.

We’re determined that you’ll get the correct item at the right price, and in a timely manner. We will ensure that parts and equipment supplied to you meet all the spec design and material requirements, and that they’re QA-inspected prior to shipment.
We stock over 50,000 separate parts, and we source 75,000 other items for specific shipboard construction and support requirements. Over 12,000 conform to National Stock Numbers. In addition to durable goods, BIW provides technical service worldwide for the Fleet’s scheduled or emergency needs.
