Harvey C. Barnum, Jr. (DDG 124) Keel Laying Ceremony

On April 6, the keel for the future USS Harvey C. Barnum, Jr. (DDG 124) was laid, marking another great milestone at Bath Iron Works. Joining the celebration was the namesake himself, Col. Barnum, who received the Medal of Honor for his selfless courage and leadership during the Vietnam War. We were also honored to host ship sponsor Martha Hill, along with Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Harker, Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King, Jr. and Congresswoman Chellie Pingree at our shipyard to celebrate the laying of the DDG 124 keel.
